Service Learning at
The Children's Museum
2008-2009
You can start signing up for your mandatory service learning hours at
the Children's Museum. Everyone is required to work one four-hour shift
at some point during the training year. You will work at the different
stations that they have set up for the kids and this is a great way to
gain some experience working with kids and large groups. To sign up,
please fill out a contract and email it to me. Include the
shift (morning or afternoon) and day that you would like to work in the
email. Please give at least 3-4 days notice if possible, as we have to
coordinate schedules with the Children's Museum.
After you email me your date/ time request and the signed contract, you
should receive a confirmation of your shift assignment. If for any
reason you cannot attend your shift, please contact me or the museum as
soon as possible to let us know. When you go for your shift, make sure
to sign in as 'Amigos' on the attendance sheet.
Please read the guidelines in the contract carefully and follow the
dress code and rules of volunteering. If you are dressed
inappropriately or otherwise fail to meet the guidelines, they will not
allow you to volunteer at the museum.
For those of you who are under 18, you will also have to fill out a permission slip
and take it with you when you volunteer at the museum.
Please contact Mo at 213.675.4928 or mojdehp@gmail.com
if you have any additional questions. To contact the museum with any
questions or concerns call Jennifer Belt at 713.535.7209.
