As described in the program
participation rules, each volunteer and family must actively
participate in the primary fundraising activity - the letter
writing campaign. |
| Due Date |
As soon as you have your
mailing list
completed with 125 names and addresses, please send it as an attachment
to ahcrowley@comcast.net. Your list should be completed over
winter
break. Each volunteer shall
prepare
the letters for the January 10, 2010
training meeting. |
| Donation
Sources |
Possible sources for
fundraising could include family friends, relatives, business
associates, your doctor or dentist, teachers, fellow church or
synagogue members, etc. |
| Supplies

- 125 regular No. 10 envelopes
- 125 return envelopes
- Sheets of white address labels
- Diskette with form letter and mail merge Word files
- 125 Amigos de las Americas Houston chapter brochures
|
| Procedure |
The suggested procedure for
preparing your letters is set out below.
- Enter the 125 or more full names, addresses
and telephone numbers into the spreadsheet.
- Customize our form letter
with your personal information.
- Using the mail merge program provided, produce
letters
(use 20 lb. paper), address labels, and at least 250 return address
labels
addressed to you.
- Sign each letter (a personal handwritten note
increases
donations).
- Prepare 125 or more self-addressed return
envelopes (the smaller envelopes), using the self-addressed return
address
labels.
- Prepare 125 or more stamped fundraising envelopes
with prepared address labels and with the second set of your return
address
labels attached in upper left hand corner.
- Stuff each fundraising envelope with signed letter,
a brochure, and a return envelope. Stamp and seal each letter.
- Bring letters to the training meeting on
January 10, 2010.
